Wisteria Growing Upwards – Sean Blake Valenzuela
I named this piece Wisteria Growing Upwards because as I am a very visual person, once the piece started to take shape I kept picturing a scene of wisterias eerily growing upwards instead of hanging down and imagined walking around a still and silent garden and noticing the plants were the wrong way up! This can be heard in the sudden ascending figures throughout. The piece is inspired from my study of Japanese music and musical scales and combining them with some jazz and electronic music elements.
