October Concerts with Prrim

Performance with Prrim

prrim-700x559PRRIM’s all star line up features koto master Satsuki Odamura, South Indian percussionist Tunji Beier and Australian Art Orchestra’s bass trombonist Adrian Sheriff.

Meaning ‘spring’ or ‘native well’ well’ in the language of the Wembawemba people of Western Victoria, PRRIM is the name adopted by these three exceptional Australian musicians to encapsulate the vision and thrust of the music they make together.

Expect music that is fresh, alive and spontaneous with fluid improvisations and original compositions drawing on a deep wellspring of traditional sources, from South Indian to Japanese and Indonesian music – plus a touch of jazz!

Driving their sound is the South Indian rhythmic tradition, which they explore as a creative springboard for their musical adventures.

With a dynamic rapport rarely witnessed, the trio taps into emotional depths to take you places you’ve never dreamed!
